After rough Hong Kong trip, Canadian men face tough draw at Singapore Sevens

TORONTO – Canada faces a tough draw this weekend at the HSBC Singapore Sevens.

The Canadian men, ranked 13th after seven stops on the 10-event rugby sevens circuit, will face No. 2 New Zealand, No. 5 U.S. and No. 11 France in Pool B. New Zealand was runner-up to Series leader Fiji last weekend in Hong Kong where Canada finished 14th after an up-and-down showing.

Fiji heads up Pool A with England, Samoa and Portugal. South Africa, Kenya, Scotland and Russia are in Pool C while Australia, Wales, Argentina and Japan are in Pool D.

Fiji leads the standings by five points. New Zealand is one point ahead of third-place South Africa.
