Canucks goaltender sidelined by undisclosed injury, to miss last home game
VANCOUVER – Vancouver Canucks goaltender Cory Schneider has been sidelined with an undisclosed injury.
A team spokesman says Schneider will miss the team’s final regular-season home game Thursday against the Anaheim Ducks.
Schneider, Vancouver’s expected starter in the playoffs, is listed as day-to-day.
The Canucks plan to recall Joe Cannata from the AHL’s Chicago Wolves.
The-27-year-old Marblehead, Mass., native has posted a 17-9-4 record this season with a 2.11 goals-against average.
Schneider’s absence means Roberto Luongo may play one final regular-season game in Vancouver.
The former Canucks captain is expected to leave Vancouver via trade or contract buyout in the off-season.
He was expected to be traded last summer after Schneider displaced him as the starter in the playoffs.
