Woman dies after plunging off 25-metre cliff at Whistler Mountain

WHISTLER, B.C. – A woman has died while skiing on Whistler Mountain, north of Vancouver.

RCMP in the resort municipality say they were called at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The 48-year-old woman’s body was found at the base of a 25-metre cliff.

Sgt. Rob Knapton says another skier spotted the woman and called for help.

He says members of the Whistler ski patrol and doctors on the mountain were unable to resuscitate the woman, whose name has not been released.

The B.C. Coroners Service and police are continuing an investigation.
