Burn with a permit, today in Kelowna

KELOWNA – Central Okanagan property owners with proper permits are allowed to take part in open burning today.

The controlled burn is going ahead today, March 25, because of good air quality and proper venting conditions. All local fire departments have been notified of the burn, according to a release from the Regional District of Central Okanagan.

Additionally, crews have collected fire hazard debris as part of a five-hectare fuel modification project in a part of Black Mountain/sntsk'il'nt?n Regional Park. Debris will be burned as long as weather conditions are favourable. The park on the east slopes outside of Kelowna is closed during the burn, according to the release.
