Jed Bernstein resigns as president of Lincoln Center
NEW YORK, N.Y. – Jed Bernstein has quit as president of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts after a little more than two years.
Lincoln Center officials said in a statement Thursday that Bernstein wants to return to producing.
Bernstein began his post in January 2014, taking over for Reynold Levy who had served since 2002. Bernstein had helped produce the Tony Award-winning revival of “Hair” and “Equus” with Daniel Radcliffe. He led the trade group Broadway League from 1995-06.
Until a replacement is hired, Lincoln Center board of directors chair Katherine Farley will oversee a transition team of senior management led by chief operating officer Liza Parker.
Among the organizations on the campus at Lincoln Center are the Metropolitan Opera, New York Philharmonic, New York City Ballet, Lincoln Center Theater and Juilliard School.
