Filmmaker Isabella Rossellini honoured by Montreal university

MONTREAL – Italian-American filmmaker Isabella Rossellini has received an honorary doctorate from the University of Quebec in Montreal.

The artist was honoured in Montreal Thursday night for what the university calls “outstanding contributions to the field of cinema” and “commitment to the preservation of biodiversity.”

Rossellini has appeared in more than 70 films, including “Blue Velvet” and “Death Becomes Her.”

She has also been a screenwriter, filmmaker, producer and model during her career and is currently an ambassador for UNICEF.

Rossellini is the daughter of Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman and Italian director Roberto Rossellini.
