NEW YORK – Longtime ESPN personality Mike Tirico will make his NBC Sports debut next week as host of the British Open.

Tirico will be on both NBC and the Golf Channel for the tournament from the Royal Troon in Scotland, which starts July 14 and runs through July 17.

Tirico moves farther south next month, when he will be host of NBC’s daytime coverage of the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. At the end of August, he will do play-by-play for two NFL exhibition games.

Tirico moved to NBC after 25 years at ESPN.
