Calgary man, 42 dies after climbing fall at Heart Creek Canyon, Alta.

KANANASKIS, Alta. – A Calgary man has died of injuries he suffered in a fall while climbing at Heart Canyon Creek near Kananaskis, Alberta.

Canmore RCMP issued a statement Saturday that says the 42-year old man suffered critical injuries when he fell approximately 22 metres Friday afternoon.

The Mounties say he was airlifted out to the trail head by helicopter, then flown by air ambulance to a Calgary medical centre where he died Friday evening.

Police say they will not be releasing the deceased man’s name as they continue to investigate the accident in conjunction with the Calgary Medical Examiner’s Office.
