KAMLOOPS – The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Kamloops Blazers 1-0 on Wednesday night, March 29, at the Sandman Centre in Kamloops.
The Rockets came out shooting but the score was 0-0 after the opening 20 minutes despite Kelowna logging 19 shots.
The score remained knotted at zeros until Dillon Dube finally broke the deadlock with assists going to Tomas Soustal and Carsen Twarynski. The Rockets took a 1-0 lead into the final stanza and carried a 40-14 advantage in shots.
The Rockets and Blazers traded chances in the third but Michael Herringer and the Kelowna defence locked it down for a 1-0 victory.
Herringer collected his second shutout of the post season stopping all 24 shots he faced as the Rockets out shot the Blazers 49-24.
Kelowna takes a 3-1 series lead with game five going on Friday night, March 31, at Prospera Place.
