Short fiction by Fitzgerald, Munro to be issued as e-books

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Classic stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald and Alice Munro and lesser known works by Maeve Binchy and Alexander McCall Smith will be among those published in May as stand-alone, 99 cent e-books to mark National Short Story Month.

Vintage Books/Anchor Books announced Tuesday that it will issue a story each day next month, 31 in all. The selections range from Fitzgerald’s “The Diamond as Big as the Ritz” to Binchy’s “The September Letters.” Others include McCall Smith’s “Sweet, Thoughtful Valentine,” Munro’s “Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage” and Stephen King’s “Children of the Corn.”
