Co-founder of BTO found not guilty on sex charges
NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. – The co-founder of the Canadian rock band Bachman-Tuner Overdrive has been found not guilty on sex charges involving a girl between the age of 11 and 14.
A B.C. judge concluded the testimony of the woman who complained was unreliable because of inconsistencies in her statements over the years.
Stacy Bohun, now 24, testified she was a foster child in Tim Bachman’s home when she said she and Bachman became involved in a “sick relationship” that involved groping and fondling, but never intercourse.
She asked the court to lift the ban on publication of her name, saying she wasn’t afraid to talk about it.
Bachman was accused of sexual assault, sexual touching and sexual interference of a person under 14.
Bachman and his brother Randy Bachman were founding members of BTO which sold millions of records worldwide in the 1970s.
