UPDATE: Winter conditions briefly close Okanagan Connector

THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – Winter conditions forced the brief closure of Highway 97C in both directions yesterday.

The highway was closed from Pennask Summit to Brenda Mine Road Exit. Drive B.C. announced the closure yesterday, April 2 at 5:33 p.m and reopened it less than an hour later.

Highway 97C wasn't the only mountain pass hit with winter conditions yesterday afternoon. Road conditions may have contributed to a fatal crash on Highway 5 near Merritt.
