LOS ANGEGLES, Calif. – The Canadian “personalized” web series “Do Not Track” has won a Peabody Award in the U.S.
The seven-part series, about online economics and privacy issues, premiered on the National Film Board of Canada website.
It’s in the first group of winners in The Peabody 30, honouring programming in news, radio/podcast, web and public service.
The Peabody jurors praised “Do Not Track” for providing “a wealth of provocative information.”
“The user is shocked at the breadth of information he or she regularly gives up in the course of routine and mundane activities across digital and mobile platforms,” reads a statement.
The winners will be honoured at the 75th anniversary Peabody ceremony on May 21 in New York.
