VIDEO: Time lapse video catches northern lights over Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – A Sahali resident caught last night’s light show on camera.

Once the the sunlight faded last night, April 5, Kamloops was lit up by the aurora borealis, or northern lights.

Jijith Manayil posted a time lapse video of the wispy green lights above Kamloops shot from a Sahali parking lot on Facebook.

The short video condenses several minutes of the shifting lights into a few seconds, highlighting how the lights fade and brighten, seemingly moving about the night sky above the city.

The University of Alberta based AuroraWatch website issued an alert for northern lights saying there was an increased chance for the phenomenon last night.
