Greyhound bus catches fire near Cache Creek

KAMLOOPS – More than a dozen passengers have safely made it to their destination after a Greyhound bus caught fire near Cache Creek early this morning.

Greyhound spokesperson Allison Morrison says the bus, travelling from 100 Mile House to Kamloops, caught fire early this morning with 17 passengers on board. She says the fire happened at around 5:30 a.m., April 6, about 15 kilometres outside Cache Creek.

Morrison says there were no injuries during the incident and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. It's not yet known how badly the bus was damaged.

She is not aware of how long the passengers were delayed by the fire, but Greyhound sent a bus from Kamloops to retrieve the stranded passengers.

They arrived in Kamloops shortly after 9 a.m.
