UPDATE: Snowfall warning on Coquihalla and Okanagan Connector ends

UPDATE: 11:49 a.m., Friday, April 7, 2017

THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – The snowfall warning issued for mountain passes in the Southern Interior has been ended.

Environment Canada says significant snowfall is no longer expected, adding the snow over the passes on the Coquihalla Highway and the Okanagan Connector have tapered to a few flurries or rain showers.

THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – It's still winter on the Southern Interior mountain passes and the Coquihalla and Okanagan Connector were both hit with a snowfall warning early today.

The warning issued this morning, April 7 at 2:18 a.m., says snow will start this morning and taper off to a few flurries or showers later today.

The Highway 5 from Hope to Merritt, Merritt to Kamloops and the Highway 97C from Merritt to Kelowna are all covered by the warning.

Environment Canada says rapidly accumulating snow like this could make travel difficult over some areas.
