Grace and Pier Robotti to be sentenced together

KELOWNA – Grace Roboitti, convicted of murdering Roxanne Louie and her brother Pier Robotti, who dumped Louie's body in the woods, will be sentenced together later this month.

Pier was, at various times since his arrest, charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter, but those charges were stayed in March when he entered a guilty plea to moving a body.

He admited, while testifying at Grace's trial in Kelowna, he intervened during a fight between Grace and Louie at a mobile home in Penticton on Jan. 4, 2015, and held Roxanne down on the ground while Grace took the bar from her and hit her in the head with it 26 times.

Pier also testified during Grace's trial that he took his sister's word that Louie was dead and agreed to dump the body the same day she was killed. Both say they intended to turn themselves into police as soon as care had been arranged for Louie's three-year-old son.

Last week, a Kelowna jury found Grace Robotti guilty of second-degree murder. She now faces life in prison but could be eligible for parole in 10 years.

The are next scheduled to appear in court on April 18.
