Kid Rock mourns assistant who died in ATV accident

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Kid Rock said in a statement he’s devastated about the death of his personal assistant who was killed in an ATV accident at the singer’s home in Nashville, Tennessee.

Metro Nashville Police Department said in a news release that 30-year-old Michael Sacha was found dead early Monday morning.

“He was a member of our family and one of the greatest young men I have ever had the pleasure to not only work with, but also to become friends with,” the singer said in a statement.

Police said the accident happened when Sacha drove two people down the driveway to meet an Uber driver at midnight Sunday. Police said Sacha crashed while riding the ATV back to the home. Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, began looking for Sacha Monday morning when he couldn’t find him in the house. Rock and a friend found Sacha on an embankment of the property’s long driveway and called for help.

“Myself, the band, our family, friends and co-workers are devastated over this loss,” Rock said. “We were supposed to be back in Michigan today, but I am going to stay here with Mike until I can bring him home to his family.”

Rock asked for privacy for the family.
