Winnipeg Blue Bombers more game ready in all respects as CFL season nears

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers say they’re in a lot better shape this CFL season than last, in more ways than one.

For one thing they have a field to play on that won’t draw jeers, a new one that was supposed to open in 2012.

Short a little landscaping perhaps, president Garth Buchko says Investors Group Field will be ready June 12th for the first exhibition game.

Coach Tim Burke also says except for a couple of holes on defence, the team is also in much better shape than it was last season, particularly on offence.

The Bombers stumbled out of the gate and finished a disappointing6-12-0 and missed the playoffs.

They did bring in another punter Thursday, Australian Tim Hutchison, making it four as camp nears.
