Strong market continues to impact regional district building permits
PENTICTON – Building activity in the regional district continues at a robust pace in the first quarter of 2017.
Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen planning supervisor Chris Garrish says building permit applications iare up 10 per cent over last year to date, noting last year was a record year for permit applications.
Garrish made the remarks during presentation of a quarterly report to board members this morning, April 20.
A total of 101 permits have been issued in the district to the end of March, up from 92 for the same time in 2016.
Revenue from building permits during the same time frame was $41,406.24 in 2016. It was $62,053.58 this year.
Permit value is also up this year in the first quarter, from $8,729,319 in 2016 to $12,042,313 in 2017.
