New GM Ed Hervey says Edmonton Eskimos have upgraded their offence

The new general manager of the Edmonton Eskimos says they have added depth and competition at quarterback by signing Mike Reilly.

Ed Hervey also says they’ve complemented the explosive scatback style of Hugh Charles with signings like that of import John White, better suited to take over should Charles go down again.

Edmonton finished last in the West last season and only made the playoffs thanks to weak Eastern teams that allowed for a crossover.

The Eskimos then fell victim to Ricky Ray and the Toronto Argonauts.

GM Eric Tillman, who traded Ray to Toronto, lost his job even before the semifinal and Hervey took over.

Unlike the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the Eskimos aren’t getting a new stadium this season, but President Len Rhodes says fans will be getting new seats.
