TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Wednesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:
Toronto Stock Exchange (12,473.65 down 103.40 points):
RMP Energy Inc. (TSX:RMP). Oil and gas. Down five cents, or 1.07 per cent, at $4.63 on 6.84 million shares.
Kinross Gold (TSX:K). Miner. Down seven cents, or 1.29 per cent, at $5.36 on 5.55 million shares. The gold sector was the leading decliner on the main index, sliding well over four per cent as the price of bullion dropped for a fifth day in a row, off $28.30 at US$1,396.20 an ounce.
Torex Gold Resources Inc.(TSX:TXG). Miner. Down two cents, or 1.38 per cent, at $1.43 on 5.27 million shares.
Uranium One Inc. (TSX:UUU). Miner. Down a penny, or 0.36 per cent, at $2.78 on 5.24 million shares.
TORC Oil and Gas Ltd. (TSX:TOG). Oil and gas. Down four cents, or 2.47 per cent, at $1.58 on 5.07 million shares.
Air Canada (TSX:AC.B). Airline. Down six cents, or 2.70 per cent, at $2.16 on 4.68 million shares.
Toronto Venture Exchange (936.87 down 13.01 points):
ENTREC Corp. (TSXV:ENT). Heavy haul services. Down two cents, or 1.40 per cent, at $1.41 on 4.63 million shares.
Madalena Ventures Inc. (TSXV:MVN). Oil and gas. Up 1.5 cents, or 4.17 per cent, at 37.5 cents on 3.42 million shares.
Companies reporting major news:
Power Corporation of Canada (TSX:POW). Management and holding company. Down 19 cents, or 0.68 per cent, at $27.90 on 823,300 shares. First-quarter net earnings attributable to participating shareholders slipped to $225 million or 49 cents per share from $260 million or 57 cents per share in the same 2012 period.
