Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a release that officers performed road safety checks from Monday, April 17 to Thursday, April 20. On Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22 RCMP used the Alexa Bus and focused on finding impaired drivers.
Police issued 452 speeding violations, 24 speeding warnings and four excessive speeding tickets with the vehicle being impounded.
Officers wrote 48 traffic violations, 42 traffic warnings and three tickets for driving without insurance.
Five drug seizures were reported and three prohibition notices served. Eight 90-day immediate roadside prohibitions were issued and two three-day immediate roadside prohibitions were issued.
Drivers can expect more road and safety blitzes in the spring and summer, Shelkie says.
