Kenai man charged with murder in shooting death of mother
KENAI, Alaska – A 22-year-old Kenai man has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of his mother.
Philip Green was arrested Tuesday and charged in the death of Rita Green, 51, KSRM-radio reported. He was jailed at Wildwood Pretrial Facility.
Philip Green was scheduled for arraignment Wednesday. Online court documents do not list his attorney.
Kenai Police Department in an announcement said officers at 3 p.m. Tuesday received a report of the shooting at a home. As police searched for a suspect, nearby Kaleidoscope Elementary School was locked down.
Philip Green was found and arrested with assistance from an Alaska State Trooper police dog, police said.
Police asked witnesses with information on the shooting to contact them.
