Police found almost 900 marijuana plants in various stages of growth while executing a search warrant on a home in Vernon.
Officers from the Vernon Detachment of the RCMP were investigating a property in the 1000 block of Mt. Begbie Drive and with the help of B.C. Hydro located a hydro bypass inside the property which led to the discovery of the illegal grow operation. Nobody was home at the time of the search.
The house has been posted under the city's drug bylaw and power has been shut off to the home for safety reasons. Police are continuing their investigation, attempting to locate the residents of the home.
