TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Wednesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:
Toronto Stock Exchange (12,752.50 up 10.07 points):
Uranium One Inc. (TSX:UUU). Miner. Down two cents, or 0.71 per cent, at $2.78 on 11.65 million shares.
B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Up 10 cents, or 4.65 per cent, at $2.25 on 8.31 million shares. The gold sector was the leading advancer on the main index, up 2.26 per cent at 190.26 points.
Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Up 29 cents, or 5.16 per cent, at $5.91 on 7.45 million shares.
Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Up 33 cents, or 1.66 per cent, at $20.21 on 6.58 million shares.
Osisko Mining Corp. (TSX:OSK). Miner. Up eight cents, or 1.94 per cent, at $4.21 on 5.61 million shares.
Toronto Venture Exchange (942.08 up 2.67 points):
Metals Creek Resources Corp. (TSXV:MEK). Mineral exploration. Down half a cent, or 9.09 per cent, at five cents on 6.58 million shares.
Mart Resources Inc. (TSXV:MMT). Oil and gas. Down two cents, or 1.34 per cent, at $1.47 on 3.91 million shares.
Companies reporting major news:
Sears Canada Inc. (TSX:SCC). Retailer. Up six cents, or 0.64 per cent, at $9.41 on 538,255 shares. The retailer booked a $31.2-million loss equivalent to 31 cents in the first quarter, reversing a year-earlier profit of $93.1 million or 91 cents per share, which included a one-time unusual gain. Excluding unusual items, Sears would have had a loss of $44.9 million in the same quarter last year. Revenue dropped 6.5 per cent to $928 million.
