RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says officers with the detachment’s Targeted Enforcement Unit observed a man known to them getting into a white Mazda near Wendy’s Restaurant on Main Street yesterday, May 8, around 3 p.m.
A check of the vehicle revealed it to have been stolen from a Penticton address on May 6. Police arrested the driver and a woman who was a passenger in the car. A search of the driver turned up a quantity of methamphetamine, heroin and cash.
The driver was charged with possession of stolen property and possession for the purpose of trafficking. He was held in custody for a court appearance.
The passenger was released without charges.
