Speed a possible factor in deadly motorcycle collision in Vancouver

VANCOUVER – A 27-year-old motorcyclist has been killed in a late-night crash in Vancouver.

Police say the victim died at the scene after colliding with a pickup truck at about 10:30 Tuesday night.

The 76-year-old driver of the truck was not hurt and is co-operating with investigators.

Officers say the truck was crossing busy First Avenue at Nootka Street when the crash occurred.

A cause is still under investigation but a release from Cst. Brian Montague says speed may have played a part in Vancouver’s sixth fatal collision of 2013.

The victim’s name is not being released.
