KAMLOOPS – The recent rainfall and snowmelt is wreaking havoc on properties near creeks and streams and many of our highways have not been spared.
Rivers are running high, lakes are full and the threat of rising water continues through the coming weekend. It's important to remain vigilant and keep a safe distance from any moving water. In flood situations, large debris like broken bridges, rocks, logs and branches can jam culverts and crash into roads.
All of the Thompson and Thompson-Nicola District roads and highways listed below are closed or open to single-lane traffic, according to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. The routes are either undergoing work, or currently under assessment.
The City of Kamloops also lists two roads still closed due to the high water:
