Six pre-schoolers left alone at unlicenced Winnipeg day home: police
WINNIPEG – Winnipeg police say half a dozen children, all under the age of six, were left alone at an unlicenced home-based daycare.
Police say the problem was discovered Tuesday by a parent who went to pick up a child at the home in the St. Vital (vee-TAHL’) area.
Sgt. Natalie Aitken says it appears the children were left on their own for at least one hour.
A 33-year-old woman is facing child abandonment charges.
She has been released pending her next court date.
Aitken says the day home is no longer operating.
