Toronto Argonauts sign quarterback Ricky Ray to contract extension

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Quarterback Ricky Ray signed a contract extension with the Toronto Argonauts on Friday that will keep him with the CFL team through the 2015 season.

Ray helped guide Toronto to a Grey Cup title last season, his first with the club.

The Argos acquired the 11-year CFL veteran from the Edmonton Eskimos on Dec. 12, 2011.

Ray posted a club-record 68.6 per cent completion average last year, passing for 4,059 yards and 20 touchdowns in 14 games.

Ray capped his first season in Toronto by leading the Argos past Calgary 35-22 in the 100th Grey Cup game at Rogers Centre.
