Bombers take a look at three possible new punters at training camp

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are trying out three new punters this season.

Coach Tim Burke says all three have strong enough legs to be good punters in the CFL.

Whether they can put it together in a game situation is another matter.

Mike Renaud is entering his fifth season as the team’s punter.

It’s hard to say whether the Bombers are really shopping or just trying to push Renaud to perform a little better.

But the trio trying out is happy to get a shot and all three will move on from rookie camp to the main camp when it starts Sunday.

They include Brett Cameron, son of Bombers punting legend Bob Cameron, Aussie Rules footballer Tim Hutchison and former UBC kicker Billy Pavlopoulos.
