Defensive end John Chick returns to Saskatchewan Roughriders after stint in NFL

REGINA – John Chick is returning to the Canadian Football League.

The free agent defensive end agreed to terms with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday, The Canadian Press has learned.

Chick, a former Roughrider, was a free agent after being released by the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.

He spent three seasons in Saskatchewan and in 2009 was named the CFL’s top defensive player before signing with the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts.

“John has intentions of playing again, we’re in the mix and we’ll do everything we can to get him here,” said Riders general manager Brendan Taman on Thursday.
