Penticton RCMP recover stolen Bobby Orr jersey
PENTICTON – A Baskin Street family is grateful after the Penticton RCMP recovered a highly prized possession and returned it to them.
Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says police received a report of a break and enter to a Baskin Street home on May 6 at around 7 a.m.
Police discovered the owner had been hospitalized to undergo serious medical treatment and the home had been ransacked.
Wrigglesworth says a number of items were stolen, specifically a signed and framed Bobby Orr jersey. It was the owner’s prized possession, which he intended to leave to his grandson.
A thorough police investigation resulted in the recovery of the jersey later in the day, Wrigglesworth says. Police were able to return it to grateful family members.
The theft continues to be investigated.
