Police to give update on missing woman case recently linked to murder suspect

TORONTO – Toronto homicide detectives will be providing an update today on their investigation of a missing 23-year-old woman who has been linked to a recently arrested murder suspect.

Laura Babcock was last seen on June 26, 2012.

She was linked last month to 27-year-old Dellen Millard when investigators searched his Waterloo-Region farm in connection with her disappearance and the death of Millard’s father, which was ruled a suicide.

Millard is facing charges of first-degree murder, forcible confinement and theft of a vehicle in the death of Tim Bosma, who did not return after leaving his home May 6 for the test drive of a truck he was trying to sell online.

The Hamilton man’s remains were found burned beyond recognition at Millard’s farm.

Another man, Mark Smich, 25, is also charged with first-degree murder in the Bosma case.
