Movie companies say latest Godzilla movie will shoot scenes on Oahu starting in July
HONOLULU, Hawaii – A new version of a legendary monster movie will be shot in Hawaii.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures say they will shoot portions of the latest remake of the Godzilla franchise starting in July.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser (http://bit.ly/10OdfFu) reports filming will be at several Oahu locations.
Shooting began March 18 in Vancouver, British Columbia, under British director Gareth Edwards.
The movie is scheduled to be in theatres in May and will feature Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe (wahn-tahn-AH’-be), Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche (be-no-SHAY’), David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston.
Hawaii film commissioner Donne Dawson says the filmmakers will be working in public places but it may not be evident what’s going to be seen on the screen.
The monster itself will be computer-generated.
