Stars unveil new logo, jersey amid several changes on 20th anniversary of move to Dallas

DALLAS – The Dallas Stars have unveiled a new logo and jersey in a celebration of several changes coming on the 20th anniversary of the franchise’s move to Texas.

The logo revealed Tuesday features a “D” over a slight alteration of the familiar star that was part of the logo when the Minnesota North Stars moved south in 1993. The words “Dallas Stars” are in a circle around the logo on the jersey’s sleeve.

The Stars also announced to several thousand fans at a theatre in downtown Dallas that they will retire the No. 9 of franchise icon Mike Modano during a home game on March 8.

The club also said it will hold training camp in nearby Fort Worth for the first time.
