Two women dead, third in hospital, after Quebec crash

BERGERONNES, Que. – Two women are dead and a third is in hospital following a violent collision on Monday afternoon on Quebec’s North Shore.

Police say the women were travelling in a sport utility vehicle on Route 139 near Bergeronnes when the driver tried to make a left turn but drove into the path of an oncoming truck.

The two women killed were passengers in the SUV while the driver suffered serious injuries.

The truck driver was treated for shock.

No names have been released as a police investigation continues.

Bergeronnes is about 200 kilometres northeast of Quebec City near the mouth of Saguenay River.
