Wild weather rips through North Okanagan
NORTH OKANAGAN – It was a wild night weather-wise in the North Okanagan.
Strong winds blew through the region last night, May 23, knocking out power to many in the Okanagan and Shuswap.
The high winds also led to wave action on Okanagan Lake, which is extremely high due to rainfall and snowmelt.
Reports on social media suggest there was damage related to last night’s weather activity, including to some docks on Okanagan Lake.
One photo circulating shows a tree that landed on a car.
The District of Coldstream has closed the Rotary Pier at Kalamalka Lake beach until further notice for safety reasons.
