Kamloops man charged with murder set to go to preliminary hearing

KAMLOOPS – A 56-year-old man charged with murder in connection with the death of a Kamloops man in an RV park in February is heading to a pre-trial hearing.

Stephen George Fraser is charged with one count of second-degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Cody Foster.

In a brief video appearance in Kamloops Provincial Court today, May 25, Fraser heard he would be getting a five-day preliminary inquiry.

A preliminary inquiry is held to determine if the Crown's evidence is sufficient enough to proceed to trial.

Fraser was charged in connection to Foster's death in February of this year, just one day after Foster's death.

Kamloops RCMP originally said at the time of the homicide that they responded to a disturbance in the Dallas neighbourhood of Kamloops on Feb. 11, where they found Foster deceased.

Fraser's lawyer is set to appear in court on his behalf June 15 to fix a date for the preliminary hearing.
