Young B.C. boy in hospital with head injuries following hit and run

SURREY, B.C. – A young boy has been transported to hospital by air ambulance and is suffering from head injuries following what police are describing as a hit and run in Surrey, B.C.

The incident took place mid-afternoon in Fleetwood, a neighbourhood in the north of the Metro Vancouver city.

RCMP Cpl. Bert Paquet says the driver was seen fleeing the area, and police are now looking for a newer model, four-door silver Mercedes, with tinted windows and large stock rims.

He says the vehicle’s front-right side may be damaged and the entire detachment is now on the lookout.

The condition of the boy is not yet known. (CKNW/News 1130)
