US-Panama draws ESPN’s 2nd-biggest audience for World Cup soccer qualifying game

BRISTOL, Conn. – The United States’ 2-0 victory over Panama on Tuesday night was ESPN’s second most-watched and second highest-rated World Cup qualifying or international friendly game telecast.

ESPN said Wednesday that the game in Seattle was seen by an average 1,436,000 viewers and 888,000 households based on an 0.8 U.S. household rating, according to Nielsen Media.

The game trailed only the U.S.-Mexico game March 26, a telecast that delivered 2,385,000 viewers and 1,644,000 households, based on a 1.4 household U.S. rating.
