Police searching for suspect after armed robbery in Kelowna
KELOWNA – Police are looking for help after a maksed man allegedly robbed a convenience store early this morning.
Around 6:15 a.m. today, June 11, a masked man entered the Mac’s Convenience Store at 2147 Richter St. with a silver pistol and demanded money, according to a police press release. The lone employ followed the instructions and the suspect fled on foot with the cash.
Police attended the scene, but Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says they had no luck finding the masked man.
“Officers were unable to locate their suspect, however the Police Service Dog tracked down items believed to be related to the robbery,” O’Donaghey says. “Those items have been seized and remain part of the ongoing police investigation.”
The employee was unharmed during the robbery.
Police are still searching for the suspect. He was last seen wearing grey track pants, a grey zipperedDC hoodie and grey and brown hiking shoes.
Police are looking for anyone with information about the man. Tips can be called into the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
