Okanagan Lake level still fluctuating day to day

KELOWNA – Up one day, down the next. That was the activity of Okanagan Lake over the weekend

The water rose four millimetres from Saturday and Sunday, but dropped down eight mm last night. The level of Okanagan Lake now sits at 343.240 m above sea level, according to Central Okanagan Emergency Operations spokesperson Kirsten Jones.

She says the weekend is a good indicator of what's to come.

“We are expecting things to fluctuate,” she says. “We’re not expecting any rain today, but we are looking at some rain later on in the week. That may have impact.”

Jones says with snowpack no longer an issue, their attention is focused on outflows of Mission Creek and Mill Creek in Kelowna.

“We are still at an extremely high lake level,” she says. “We can’t at this point say we’ve levelled off, there’s just too many factors.”
