Serious injuries after two Harley Davidsons collide in West Kelowna

WEST KELOWNA – A man is in hospital after a two motorcycles crashed yesterday afternoon and police are looking for witnesses for the investigation.

A 67-year-old Lake Country man sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance following the crash.

Yesterday, June 11, at 1:53 p.m. emergency crews responded to reports of a crash on Highway 97 north of Horizon Drive, according to an RCMP release.

The driver of a brown Harley Davidson motorcycle was passing a white SUV to merge onto the highway from the Westside Road overpass when he hit another motorcycle.

“As a result, the motorcyclist sideswiped another southbound black Harley Davidson motorcycle, which caused both motorbikes to go down,” Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says in the release.

The driver and passenger of the black Harley Davidson sustained minor injuries and were released by emergency workers on the scene.

Police are still looking for witnesses and say the owner of the white SUV may be able to help in the ongoing crash investigation.
