More vehicle break-ins reported in Penticton

PENTICTON – Penticton RCMP continue to investigate vehicle break and enters as they advise residents once again to remove valuables from their cars and trucks.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says police responded to multiple reports of theft from vehicles on June 11.

Four vehicles parked on MacDonald Street had been broken into and rummaged through. Contents missing included sunglasses and loose change.

A witness reported seeing three men in the area around 4 a.m., including one on a bicycle. The resident believes the men were associated with a black pickup truck also in the area.

On Skaha Lake Road, a Ford Taurus was broken into and the ignition was torn apart in an aborted attempt to steal the car. Vehicle papers and keys to other vehicles were taken.

Between 4:15 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., a vehicle on Mckenzie Street was entered and change stolen. A video of the incident shows an individual checking vehicle doors in the area. Police believe they can identify the woman rummaging through the vehicle.

Penticton RCMP have investigated numerous vehicle break and enters this year, including two nights of theft from vehicles in late May.
