VIDEO: Crew scouted across Canada, picked Vernon for sci-fi thriller ‘The Recall’

VERNON – Vernon and the Okanagan Valley are getting high praise from the cast and crew of The Recall, which filmed in the area last year.

In a video posted to Facebook, viewers are treated to a behind-the-scenes look at the production which stars Wesley Snipes from Blade, The Expendables 3, and Chi-raq and RJ Mitte from Breaking Bad.

“We scouted across Canada and ultimately ended up in British Columbia just because of the incredible beauty of this valley,” producer Kevin Dewalt says in the video. “It’s just such a striking part of the world that it just made sense to shoot it here.”

While the film makes good use of the region’s raw natural beauty, the crew also benefited from the new Okanagan Studios in Vernon.

Sets for the film were built inside the studio, which opened in 2016.
