Most actively traded companies on the TSX, TSX Venture Exchange markets

TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (11,995.66 up 27.08 points):

B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Up eight cents, or 3.67 per cent, at $2.26 on 21.99 million shares. The gold sector was the biggest percentage advancer on the main index, up 2.40 per cent as the price of August bullion rose $5.80 to US$1,292 an ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

San Gold Corp. (TSX:SGR). Miner. Unchanged at 9.5 cents on 19.49 million shares.

Belo Sun Mining Corp. (TSX:BSX). Miner. Up five cents, or 7.81 per cent, at 69 cents on 18.93 million shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation equipment. Down 11 cents, or 2.43 per cent, at $4.42 on 13.31 million shares.

Manulife Financial Corp. (TSX:MFC). Insurer. Unchanged at $16.72 on 13.17 million shares.

Toronto Venture Exchange (895.74 up 3.14 points):

Rodinia Oil Corp. (TSXV:ROZ). Oil explorer. Down 20 cents, or 66.67 per cent, at a penny on 7.69 million shares. The Calgary-based company said that its strategic review process ended without success and its ability to carry on business is “now in serious doubt.”

Adira Energy Ltd. (TSXV:ADL). Down half a cent, or 50 per cent, at half a cent on 4.69 million shares.

Company reporting major news:

New Flyer Industries Inc. (TSX:NFI). Transportation equipment. Up 25 cents, or 2.49 per cent, at $10.30 on 58.397 shares. The Winnipeg-based maker of heavy duty transit buses is buying North American Bus Industries for $80 million cash, a move that will help New Flyer expand in the United States.

Sun Life Financial (TSX:SLF). Insurer. Down 68 cents, or 2.20 per cent, at $30.19 on 4.83 million shares. The insurer said there will be a delay in closing the US$1.35-billion sale of its U.S. annuities business and some of its U.S. life insurance businesses to Delaware Life Holdings LLC. Sun Life had expected to close the deal before June 30.

Wi-LAN Inc. (TSX:WIN). Patent licensing. Up 46 cents, or 10.82 per cent, at $4.71 on 2.15 million shares. Wi-LAN announced the renewal of its licensing agreement with Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.
