Cougar cub moves into B.C. Wildlife Park

KAMLOOPS – The resident cougar at the B.C. Wildlife Park just got a roommate.

A young male cougar has joined the roster at the park.

People will be able to catch a glimpse of the newcomer after his three to four week stay in quarantine, according to a B.C. Wildlife Park media release.

The young cougar was trapped in the Vernon area with his mother after they had started hunting in urban areas. He was brought to the park by officer with the B.C. Conservation Service.

The cougar cub joins more than 40 different species of wildlife at the park including lynx, bobcat, arctic wolf, black bear and grizzly bear, the release says.
