Kelowna man whose home burned down is waiting for a lung transplant

KELOWNA – The couple whose home burned down in a fire yesterday evening are currently in Toronto waiting on a life-changing lung transplant.

Although firefighters were able to save some important personal effects in the fire yesterday, June 20, it was too late to save Kory and Renee Bradshaw’s home.

Kory, 40, has Cystic Fibrosis and is currently waiting for a lung transplant at St. Michaels hospital in Toronto, according to GoFundMe page. Kory has been on oxygen for 12 years and his condition has forced him to stop working.

While in Toronto, the couple are renting an apartment for $2,800 a month, in addition to paying the mortgage on the home that went up in flames yesterday.

“While their home is insured, the emotional and other costs are mounting for this young couple,” GoFundMe page creator Beth Shey says.
